Your full birthdate hash and signature live in your wallet. The app derives "18+: yes" on-device and signs that answer. The bartender, gym, or website sees a single signed claim — never your actual date of birth, never your age in years.
Selective disclosure
Every verified property in your Prson wallet is signed atomically. You disclose one fact, the rest stays private. Show a bouncer you're 18+ without your birthday. Show a landlord you're an EU resident without your address. Show a recruiter you're a verified human without your selfie.
What you can prove
Your full birthdate hash and signature live in your wallet. The app derives "18+: yes" on-device and signs that answer. The bartender, gym, or website sees a single signed claim — never your actual date of birth, never your age in years.
Once your passport is read via NFC, the country code lives in your wallet as an independently-signed property. Disclose just the country — not the passport number, not the expiry date, not the photo, not the document image.
"Verified human" means Prson checked the chip in your passport or ID card: its issuing country's signature and its anti-cloning check. The highest level adds a live face match with the chip photo, run on your phone. The selfie never leaves your phone — only the verification level travels with the proof.
A display name like "Ana" can be verified as a fragment of your signed legal name, with no other fragment exposed. The app confirms every token in the displayed name maps to a signed name property — nothing more is disclosed.
Country-of-residence is signed independently of your street address. A landlord, service, or government form that just needs "EU resident, yes" gets exactly that — never the full address line.
A verified-email hash proves you once controlled an inbox — enough for "this account is the same as that one" linking across services, without revealing the address itself.
A simple signed flag — "driver's licence: yes, valid until year X" — that car-share platforms, rental agencies, or freelance gigs can verify without ever seeing the plastic.
Doctor, lawyer, electrician, pilot — once the credential is notarised, you carry a signed "verified {profession}" flag. Disclose the title, keep the certificate scan in your drawer.
How
When Prson verifies a document, each field (birthdate, country, name, etc.) is hashed and signed independently — never bundled into a single all-or-nothing record.
For yes/no questions like "18+?" or "EU resident?", the app computes the answer locally and signs that answer — so a verifier can confirm the answer alone, with no way to recover the source values.
The Prson identity address QR can carry just hashes, or full signature chains for specific properties. By default it carries the minimum needed for the asking context.
Honest limits
We split verified data into the smallest useful pieces and let you reveal each one independently. A verifier learns the disclosed claim and nothing else from the same document.
We're not running zk-SNARKs over arbitrary statements. Claims you can make are limited to the set of properties and derived answers the app supports. We're honest about that.
Raw values live on your phone. Our servers keep hashes and signatures, not your birthdate, document number or selfie. (To check a chip, your phone sends its data once; we don't keep the values. Each hash is salted with a random value only your phone holds, so even a short value like a birthdate can't be guessed from it.)
