Verification guides

How to verify anything about someone

Age, address, phone, email, nationality, a residence permit, a website, or that someone is a real person. You ask, they prove it on their phone in the Prson app, and you get a yes or no signed by Prson.

  • Answered in the Prson app
  • Signed by Prson
  • Only the answer is shared

Guides

What do you need to know?

Not yet: Bank account, balance and income: coming. Prson can't verify these yet.

How it works

Three steps, on their phone.

  1. Ask

Pick what you need to know in the Prson app and send it as a link, by WhatsApp, email or wherever you talk. Organisations can ask from their own website or app, or through an AI agent.

  2. They prove it on their phone

In the Prson app they see who is asking and what, and choose to answer or decline. What they prove comes from a document chip, a code by SMS or email, a letter, or a DNS record, depending on what you asked.

  3. Get a yes or no

The answer comes back signed by Prson, so it can't be edited, and it's valid for a limited time. You learn "18 or older: yes" and nothing more.

Every answer

The answer, not the data.

  • A yes or no

You learn the answer to your question, like "18 or older", never the birth date or the document behind it.

  • Signed by Prson

Every answer is signed, so it can't be edited, and it's valid for a limited time.

  • From a moment in time

Most answers are about when they verified: an email or an address can change afterwards. Each guide says how long a verification lasts.

  • Their choice

The person sees who is asking and what, and can decline. Nothing is shared without their say.

For organisations

Ask from your website, app or AI agent.

The same questions work through the Prson API: send the request, the person answers in the Prson app, and you get the answer signed by Prson.

Questions

Questions, answered.

What can I verify about someone?

Their age, a postal address, a phone number, an email address, their nationality, a residence permit, a website they control, and that they're a verified human. Every fact, with what a yes proves and doesn't, is listed at app.prson.net/claims.

What do I see?

Only the answer to what you asked, signed by Prson. If you need a detail itself, such as an email address, you can ask them to share it, and they see that before they agree.

Can they say no?

Yes. They see who is asking and what, and can decline. Nothing is shared without their say.

Can I verify someone's bank balance or income?

Not yet. Bank facts are coming, but Prson can't verify them today, and asking for them is refused.

Can a business or an app ask too?

Yes, through the Prson API or an AI agent. The developer docs at prson.net/docs/facts list every fact and how to ask for it.

Does the other person need the Prson app?

Yes, to answer. The Prson app is free on iPhone and Android, and in private beta now. You don't need anything to ask but the app or a link from an organisation that uses Prson.
