Terms of Service
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Prson mobile app and any related services (together, the "Service"), operated by Yumankind OÜ (Estonia) ("Yumankind", "we", "us"). By installing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you can lawfully enter into these Terms.
3. Your wallet and keys
Prson is a private identity wallet. Every cryptographic key used in the app is derived from a 12-word recovery phrase that is generated and stored on your device. You are solely responsible for safeguarding this recovery phrase. If you lose it, we cannot recover your identities, signatures, or messages.
Identities you create, properties you verify, and proofs you sign are bound to keys that we do not hold. We provide notary countersignatures for verified properties, but we cannot forge, revoke, or impersonate your identity.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
- Submit verification material that you do not have the right to submit.
- Coerce, harass, or threaten other users.
- Request truth-proof challenges designed to humiliate, expose, or harm another person.
- Use the Service to commit fraud, money laundering, or other illegal activity.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload the Service or its infrastructure.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms.
5. Truth-proof challenges
Challenges are voluntary. Receiving a challenge does not obligate you to respond, and declining a challenge has no bearing on your identity verification level. If you do respond, the capture is signed by your identity key and bound to the challenger's prompt; you cannot retroactively unbind that signature.
You are responsible for the content of any challenge you send or respond to. Yumankind does not vet challenge prompts in advance and is not a party to the agreement between you and the other wallet.
6. Verified properties
When you verify a property (such as a name, email, or document) we countersign a hash of the value bound to your identity. We do not warrant that any third party will accept the countersignature; the Service is a verification primitive, not a legal credential.
7. Fees
The core app is free to use. Some optional features (such as certain storage tiers or premium verification flows) may carry fees, which will be disclosed in the app before you incur them.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yumankind OÜ shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or €50 if you have paid nothing.
10. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Estonia, except where mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email if you have provided one. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
